Your Intimate Path
September 10-12, 2021
Sophia, North Carolina
Weekend of healing , networking and skills building
If you are an advocate for domestic violence ready to use your voice for the voiceless, be a warrior for those in need and boldly stand up for others, then Andrea invites you to join her for a weekend of training, healing from vicarious trauma and spiritual enlightenment in the beautiful historic setting of Salisbury, North Carolina.
This will be our 4th Annual Event. This gathering is for advocates, servant leaders and ministers that are working with domestic violence victims. The purpose is to bring skills, strategies and resources to help you serve those in need.
You will gain new tools to aide in your healing process, gain up-to-date information on effective communications, and evidence based programs and services. This weekend will be both educational and spiritual.
It is an age old tradition for women to dress in their finest pearls and come together for a cup of tea, as they speak freely on the issues that are affecting our communities. It is the desire of FLR Global Institute to continue this tradition , and discuss ways to eradicate domestic violence and violence against women. As well as to provide modalities for advocates to heal. Being aware of domestic violence is not enough, it is time to be the domestic violence change we want to see in our communities. #bethedvchange
This year we are bringing you a complete package. Previous years we have put a lot of effort in picking the right venue that would accommodate or mission. This year we searched for the same and found a retreat facility in the mountains of Asheboro, NC.
You will spend 3 days being pampered, fed, listened to and poured into. Andrea and her power sisters will help you build your vision to the next level.
During the weekend you will gain:
7 Essential skills needed for advocates
Walking through the 3B's - Breakdown, Breakthrough and Build Up
How to THRIVE in chaos
Strategies for community involvement
Your mission is your business
The Power needed to Walk Your Path
How to choose accountability partners
Healing modalities to use and teach
Certificate of attendance
Greetings,
If you had asked me ten years ago my plans for the future, it would not have included building a legacy for my family and working to eradicate domestic violence. Ten year ago, I did not understand the extent of which the acts of domestic violence have on families. I would hear it on the news but thought those were isolated cases. I didn’t understand the level of evil that is running rampant in our streets and pretending it is love.
On September 6, 2014, my seventeen-year-old daughter, Jennifer was murdered by her estranged brother in law. He would not accept the boundaries set before him by his wife and invaded my home. It seems his intentions were to kill us all, but the Father in Heaven kept some of us alive. I can’t explain the effects that night had on our family and those that knew Jennifer, but I can say my mission in life has changed. I wish that no mother should have to bury her child. Especially from something that could have been prevented.
As I started to plan this year’s Tea & Pearls Sister Gathering, I had to take a moment to reflect on the transformation that has taken place in myself and with each event I have hosted. In 2016, I hosted my first event with friends and family supporting. It was an intimate gathering about business and identifying purpose. Each year thereafter has been building on purpose and bringing speakers to help you evolve in your greatness. I can honestly say that all of my events have planted the seed of transformation to those looking to make a change.
However, last year was something amazing. Last year men and women joined to not only plant the seed of transformation, but transformation happened in the room. Confirmation after confirmation was given. Bonds were formed with participants, speakers and vendors. Something truly precious was birthed and communities have been reaping the benefits throughout the year. One participant stated is was like we were in an alabaster box.
The whole trajectory of my events was changed in 2019. I set out to provide a healing weekend. It happened and then some. This year’s line-up of events and speakers will bring even more healing possibilities. I understand self-care is important and to truly help others we need to practice self-care with a holistic approach. This year there will be ways to bring harmony to your life by getting clarity of mind, body and spirit.
So, to all my advocates, ministers and servant leaders that are working with victims, survivors and those at risk of domestic violence, this event is especially for you. We know your pain and what you are dealing with on a daily basis. We hear you. You are serving a worthwhile cause and my team, and I are meeting in historical Salisbury, North Carolina to serve you. We are bringing the kettle and the cups and serving you the tea.
A Message from Andrea,
I am still soaking in & processing the wisdom, the knowledge, the healing, the laughter, the tears, the joy, the peace, the truth, the LOVE of this weekend. I was amazed by it all then & I still am now. It was a breath of fresh air to meet and become apart of such a STRONG, ENCOURAGING, MOTIVATED & LOVING SISTERHOOD! Andrea Merriman I can't thank you & the other ladies & Mr. Michael enough for being obedient to God & creating a safe place for myself & others.
